Students take control of their schedule, build relationships outside of the Echo Springs community, and continue towards their goals created in Foundations.

Students live in our beautiful home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where they will continue their journey in our Experience phase of the program.

Each student’s experience in this phase is unique.

We provide a general framework, but students fill in the blanks depending on what they want to accomplish in this part of the program.

Personalized Experience

  • Back to School

Many students choose to attend school at North Idaho College. They are responsible for choosing their classes, attending class, and completing assignments on time. Our shared home in Coeur d’Alene is only a short bike ride from campus.

  • Employment

We also encourage our students to seek part time jobs in Coeur d’Alene to get experience, earn income, develop new friendships within the community, and feel the pride of growing self-sufficiency.

  • Community Involvement

Our students become pillars of the Coeur d’Alene community where they often volunteer and participate in local events. For example, it is not unusual for students to perform in poetry slams while other students cheer them on. Some students also continue to attend AA and NA meetings.

  • Group Events

The Echo Springs group at Coeur d’Alene is tightknit. Our students are still expected to perform chores around the house and participate in group events like our weekly potluck.

Continued Support

A faculty member lives full time with students at the Coeur d’Alene campus to provide continued mentorship and problem solving assistance.

Though we may stand back a little to give students more room to grow, we are always present and watchful and willing to help along the way.

Ready for Interdependence.

When a student is ready, he or she will perform a personal and deeply empowering exit interview in order to graduate into the next and final phase of the program, Interdependence.
