Structure & Responsibilities
Students start out with a structured schedule. Once they are comfortable with the routine of the house, they are encouraged to take more control of their own schedule.
Limited
Distractions
Students step away from their old lives and focus on living in the present in this new environment. We limit time for television and computers in order to support this.
*The Foundations phase of our program typically lasts between three and seven months and is catered to the needs of each student.

Multilayered education and support
School & Work
Many students continue their schooling. Some pursue a GED and others take classes at the local community college.
Toward the end of Foundations, some create a resume, cover letter and seek employment within the community
Volunteering & Group Events
Our students become positive figures in the Sandpoint community through volunteering opportunities.
They also participate in a variety of group activities at home, like our weekly, student-led potluck, which is always a favorite!
Wilderness Adventures
After a long week of hard work and growth, our students enjoy thrilling weekend activities that will vary depending on the time of year.
We believe that connecting with nature is good for the soul. Our activities includes:
- Ski/snow board trips
- Kayaking
- Hiking
- Camping
- Mountain climbing
- Alaska trip
